What Is Medical Malpractice?

 

A: Medical malpractice occurs when the doctor you've entrusted with your care deviates from the acceptable standard of care, and the result of his care leads to complications or injury that should not have occurred had the doctor followed the acceptable standard of care. This does not mean however that all bad results are due to medical mistake or malpractice. Sometimes a doctor will follow the acceptable standard of care but the outcome will not be one that the patient expects.
