Bicyclist Medevaced After Being Hit by Car on Route 35 in Aberdeen

According to Chief of Police John Powers, the male bicyclist was crossing Route 35 on Amboy Avenue when he was struck by a female driving in a Toyota south on Route 35.

The bicyclist suffered a significant head injury, Powers said, and was medevaced to a nearby hospital by a NJ State Police helicopter.

The identity of the bicyclist and the driver, as well as the bicyclist's condition, were not immediately available.

Officer Roger Peter and Officer Matthew Lloyd responded to the scene. Sgt. Michael O'Dwyer and the Monmouth County Serious Collision and Reconstruction Team are investigating the accident.
