Tuesday evening a van crashed into a tree. It entrapped Freehold woman who was seriously injured. The accident occured in front of the Sun National Bank on Route 9 South in Manalapan.
Manalapan Police responded to the scene at around 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday in response to the serious accident. Upon investigation, police learned that the driver, a 55-year-old Freehold Township woman, struck a curb in front of the Sun National Bank causing the car to exit the roadway. The 1994 Ford Econoline van then travled about 185 feet on the grass and ultimately smashed into a large tree, Capt. Michael Fountain of the Manalapan Police Department said.
According to police, the front portion of the van suffered significant damage and the driver was medivaced.
