Jackson police stated that a bicyclist was hit by a car after he made a left turn in front of the vehicle on South New Prospect Road, near Woodlane Road, Wednesday evening.
The cyclist suffered a head and leg injury in the crash, near the Wawa store, police said. He was airlifted to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune, where he was listed in critical condition Thursday morning.
Police stated that the cylist was riding eastbound on the shoulder, when he turned left, in front of the car. Jackson police, first aid, and fire department stations 55 and 54, along with MONOC paramedics responded to the scene. The Ocean County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Unit also assisted with the investigation.
Officers Patrick Mackin, Trevor Crowley and Joseph Candido are handling the crash investigation. Anyone with any information about it is asked to call police at 732-928-1111.
