Posted on Feb 16, 2017

North Brunswick, NJ - One person died in a one-car crash on Ryders Lane on Monday morning, police said.

At 6:50 a.m., patrol units responded to the accident to find the driver unresponsive inside the vehicle, police said. North Brunswick EMS and paramedics from Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick at the scene confirmed that the driver had died from his injuries.

The identity of the driver has not been released pending notification of next of kin.

The scene and investigation were turned over to the Traffic Safety Bureau. The road was closed for a couple hours during the investigation.

According to police, the preliminary investigation indicates that the vehicle was traveling westbound on Ryders Lane toward New Brunswick when the vehicle veered left, traveled over the concrete median and across the eastbound lanes of Ryders Lane, finally coming to rest after striking the metal guard rail head-on.

Anyone who may have any information on the accident is asked to call the North Brunswick Police Department Traffic Safety Bureau at 732-247-0922, ext. 316.
