A motorcyclist was critically injured when he hit a dump truck on Englishtown Road near Colorado Boulevard today. A second motorcyclist was also injured.
A portion of Englishtown Road remained closed as of 5 pm.
Police stated that two men were riding motorcycles south on Englishtown Road shortly after 2 p.m. as the truck was traveling north and turning left into Pension Road.
One or two cars were stopped in the southbound lanes as the truck was turning, but the motorcycles were unable to stop, police Capt. Arthur Carullo said.
One motorcyclist flipped on to his side, skidding to avoid a collision, but the second motorcyclist, a man from Monroe Township, tried going around the traffic, struck the rear of the truck and was thrown from his vehicle, Carullo said. The other rider only recieved minor injuries.
